Siemens softens despite bagging contract
Siemens closed at Rs 571, down by 2.5% or Rs 14 on the BSE. The stock opened at Rs 590 and touched a high of Rs 605 and a low of Rs 565 during the day. A total of 272,659 shares were traded on the BSE as against the 2-week average of 109,271 shares.

Hero Honda sales up 35.88% in August

For the first time ever, the company has recorded more than four lakh despatch sales in a single month, it said in a statement. "With sales of more than four lakh units, August has been a month of record sales for Hero Honda," Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said. He said the company has lined up some launches during the second half of 2009, including two before the upcoming festival season.
