The consortium unanimously agreed to pool infrastructure and faculty and to participate in various academic programmes to be started with launching of a BS course in Bangalore University. All consortium members agreed to the idea of starting a central instrumentation facility in the Bangalore university campus with state-of-the-art equipment, Bangalore University’s Vice-Chancellor N Prabhu Dev said in a statement. The facility is expected to cost Rs 20 crore. Equipment like electron microscope, DNA sequencer, NMR spectrometer and equipment for astrophysics and aerospace would be purchased for the new centre.
