Nokia to axe 330 jobs in Finland, Denmark

The company has around 17,000 employees in the research and development division, of which more than 2,000 are in Oulu and over 1,000 are based in Copenhagen. The company said it aims to support the employees with alternative solutions, such as finding new positions within the company for as many employees as possible. Nokia, in the third quarter of 2009, reported an operating loss of euro 426 million. It had posted an operating profit of euro 1.5 billion in the year-ago period.
