Hyundai net jumps 104% in 2009 on India, China sales
Riding on back of brisk sales in India and China, Korean car major Hyundai Motor Company today said its net profit for the year 2009 zoomed by 104.5 per cent at 29.615 trillion won (about Rs 1,18,950.16 crore) from the previous year.

ICSI, Aptech tieup
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Aptech Limited, the global provider of learning solutions, have entered into a tie-up to impart information technology training to ICSI students and members across India. Accordingly, Aptech’s specially designed task-oriented programme titled ‘Understanding Information Technology in the Corporate Environment,’ trains students in high-end personal computing skills including MS Office, computerised accounting with special modules on IT laws and security, e-commerce.The programme will be conducted across over 170 Aptech centres in India. The duration will be 70 hours followed by an 80-minute long online assessment.

Mahindra Satyam settles Upaid dispute for $70 mn

Further, the troubled Indian outsourcer would make a payment of $25 million within the next 12 months of making the first payment. Upaid had filed the lawsuit in a Texas court seeking damages exceeding $1 billion. The proceedings against Satyam commenced in 2007, alleging forgery of documents necessary for transfer of proper title to its under an assignment agreement entered into in 1998. : Satyam appoints Deloitte as auditor, Damodaran on board Satyam had assigned and transferred its rights, title and interests in certain computer software to Upaid by getting assent from all the employees who had worked on the project, but the signature of one of the employees was found to have been forged. The settlement would also involve Upaid giving Mahindra Satyam a worldwide royalty-free licence on all of its patents, and provides for the dismissal of all pending actions between parties, the filing said. Shares of Satyam closed at Rs 102.65, up 1.33 per cent on the BSE.
