The domestic currency had shed 16 paise to close at 45.80/81 a dollar in the previous session. Forex dealers said dollar"s gains against other currencies, mainly weighed on the rupee"s sentiment even discounting the surge in the local bourses. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex was up by nearly 105 points at 17,590.59 in early trade today mainly towing the footsteps of the other Asian market that opened in the black following the surge in the US market.
